Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
